He has a very good bedside manner, easy to talk to, did not judge me at all, when I had my post op check up, he listened to me and was very encouraging on what I had achieved. His mannerism is absolutely brilliant, could not ask for a better Doctor

Can't say much more than the above. Mr. Kirby gave me great care and attention, had very good bedside manners and the operation has changed my life. He was a nice guy.

I had worked very hard for the previous 12 months to lose the weight required for the operation. I had several meetings with the bariatric team and with Mr Kirby himself, they reassured me on every occasion that we met. The team were pleased with my progress and a date was set. I was very nervous before I went for my operation with Mr Kirby and the team and they were very chatty and we had a few laughs before I went under. I woke up several hours later in recovery with Mr Kirby in the room. I had an asthma attack and Mr Kirby immediately treated me and put me on a nebuliser. I have seen Mr Kirby several months after my op and he is very pleased with my weight loss and health gains such as; reduced asthma symptoms, better recovery after walking, more energy, I no longer need my reflux medication and my peek flow has increased by 100. I would like to thank Mr Kirby and the team for their professionalism, humour and for saving my life. :-)

I was admitted through A&E at the end of August and diagnosed with a small bowel obstruction with adhesions. I was placed under the care of Mr Kirby who performed emergency Laparotomy surgery. During my stay in hospital I felt fully confident that I was receiving the best possible care from Mr Kirby and his team and was treated with respect. At every meeting Mr Kirby was warm, kind, reassuring, approachable and genuinely caring. I felt informed and relaxed before surgery and at every stage of my recovery, right through to my discharge from hospital and today's follow up appointment. I have no hesitation in assuring any future patients that they will be in the very best possible hands under Mr Kirby's care - and I have a beautifully neat and straight scar to prove it! Thank you Mr Kirby, for literally saving my life!
